My name is James.  I’ve been around and enjoyed sports my whole life.  I started with tennis playing with high school coaches when I could barely see over the net.  When I reached high school, I played every sport offered at my small high school, football, baseball, and basketball. I started in all three sports for most of my high school career.

As my high school career ended, I began playing golf and tennis regularly.  I would take every opportunity to catch a quick game of either.  When I graduated from college and began my coaching career, I would often hit the golf course before work, even though I had to drive 30 miles to play.  It was the start of a life-long passion.

I had a very successful coaching career for the next 26 years and then went into the administrative side of education.  I coached primarily basketball where my teams won one state title and had one runner-up.  I was an assistant for the football team and we won 3 state titles in the ’70s.  I coached baseball for 4 years.

Sports only take a spark to get you hooked.  Play golf 3 or 4 times and you will probably get hooked.  I have been blessed to still be competitive at the ripe young age of 82.  I know a few things and will be happy to share many stories.
